Cherry
Creek Academy Charter school is governed by a Board of Directors rather
than from the district level. CCA has 9 board members that are elected
by parents, teachers, staff and the leadership team to represent
approximately 570 students, parents, 50+ teachers and staff as well as
the leadership team. Each year 3 board seats come up for election.
The CCA School Board is responsible for the
oversight of CCA. This group exists to maintain fiscal responsibility,
ensure mission compliance, interface with the Cherry Creek School
District and provide overall leadership, direction and planning. We have
public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month in the CCA library
at 6 p.m. The Board welcomes input, thoughts and ideas from parents.
The most effective way to provide input is at the Committee level meetings where
discussions, research and proposed action items are developed. We
encourage you to attend Committee level meetings and/or contact the
Committee Chairperson directly if you would like to provide any
feedback, input or ideas.

Each year in May, CCA holds an election for our Board of Directors. There will be 3 open positions, each serving a 3 year term. Two of the requirements to be considered as a CCA Board member are:
- Potential candidates must attend a minimum of two (2) regular CCA Board meetings during the nine (9) months prior to the April Board meeting. The February & March Board meetings are eligible meetings for this requirement.
- Potential candidates must interview with at least one (1) current Board member prior to the nomination form submittal deadline.
The candidate forms and biography forms will be shared in March, 2021. Please click here for the complete Board Election Procedure.
